The Rufus Ingalls program presented by the Denmark Historical Society August 24 at the Arts Center was a great success. Patrick Fairbairn did a magnificent job of portraying Rufus, in his time, as a genuine persona-- with his great contributions to Civil War history-- in the minds of all who were there. To think that he was born right here in Denmark and went on to make a legend for himself during the War, and as far West as the Oregon Territory and California! At left is a photo of Rufus (Pat Faibairn) and his sister (alias Mary Ellen Fairbairn). |
