Lincoln Conspiracy Trial

Luzerne County Community College

Nanticoke Pennsylvania

April 14, 2007

This event was organized and staged by the Lindhill Institute; hosted by the Luzerne County Community College; and supported by the Confederation Of Union Generals ( COUG), the Delaney Delacey Sons of Veterans Reserves, and other dedicated enthusiasts of history. The audience, estimated at about 100 persons, were treated to a mini version of America's most famous trial in an amphitheater type classroom done over to resemble a courtroom. Taking text directly from 1,000 pages of original trial transcripts, organizers Fred Walters and Hugh Taylor assembled a cast of characters that captivated the audience with riveting testimony and realistic, evidentiary exhibits such as period pistols, daggers, Bowie knives, and the like. The centerpiece of the production was an hour long tour de force performance by Hugh Taylor as chief prosecution witnessLewis Weichmann.
